SYNTHAź
2000 v2.3
Power
Plant Thermal Analysis Software for Windows
Syntha 2000 helps electric
utilities and independent power producers operate more
efficiently by simulating the precise physical and performance
conditions of existing or proposed plants. Benefits include:
w Better
designed plants
w
Reduced fuel consumption
w
Increased capacity
w
Optimized maintenance
w
Improved availability
Syntha 2000 analyzes
thermal performance of gas and steam electric power plants,
gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators and combined
cycle systems. It evaluates fossil-fueled plants, both turbine
and boiler, as well as nuclear plant turbine and
balance-of-plant cycles. The software also models coal
gasifiers and pressurized fluidized bed combustors. Syntha
2000 carries engineers from design to acceptance to
operation and through the entire life of a generating unit.
Syntha 2000 software is
used for:
w Plant
Design
w
Equipment/System Testing
w
Unit Modification
w
Operational Analyses
w
Evaluating Maintenance
Decisions
RELIABLE TECHNOLOGY
Syntha 2000 has the industry's
most powerful and reliable foundation, incorporating more
industry experience and allowing more user flexibility than
simpler programs.
Syntha 2000 gives you data you
can rely on. All models are solved within the confines of the
First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics and the program's
convergence criteria. (If thermodynamic violations occur or
the specified convergence criteria cannot be met, Syntha 2000
uses the closest valid data and identifies which streams and
components cause the limits and by how much.)
PROVEN SOLUTIONS
Syntha software has been
important in the design, improvement and evaluation of power
systems in the United States and around the world. More than
350 plants - fossil, nuclear, combined cycle/cogeneration, gas
turbine and steam production - have been studied, optimized or
analyzed. Vendors (boiler and turbine), consultants,
architect-engineers and operators use Syntha programs to
improve the cost-effectiveness of power production. Models are
used for designing new power cycles or for evaluating existing
plants.
SUBSTANTIAL RETURNS
Syntha clients have frequently
reported payback periods as short as three weeks when using
Syntha 2000. And even small increases in efficiency result in
enormous fuel savings. One U.S. utility attributes fuel
savings of over $3M per year directly to their application of
Syntha. |
